Kohler Karbon and Kohler Stages Sink Question
Comments (9)remodel... we were careful and flushed the lines as well ... I was satisfied with my pressure until I saw yours (picture is in spray mode, correct?) I was thinking that perhaps I didn't want higher pressure for the splash factor. I'm still on my learning curve using it. It felt very awkward at first, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. I have decided it's easier to use when left in the "down" position, verses leaving it looking arched like a normal faucet. Any tips you have to share?...See MoreSink issue; Kohler stages 45 sink question(s)
Comments (11)I was hoping scrappy would join the conversation. I just snapped a pic of mine and you can see it does not splash with the faucet on regular flow. I believe you need to choose the faucets carefully to fit your use, especially if wall mounted. One thing I'd like to mention though is that I would not want to give up the shelf to hand washing. That is my favorite prep area. As I've used my sink for six months now, I've developed patterns; I use the right 3/4's for prep and the area to the left of the drain for dirty/transitional stuff and hand washing. Hand washing is a main reason I went with the Kohler. My DH is not trainable regarding this and it's one of the reasons we chose the stages. I did consider this in the planning stage and have my fridge to the right of the landing counter, the trash and recycle directly below the center of the sink and DW to the left. We considered two faucets but ultimately went with one Kohler Karbon. It reaches all corners and i love that I do not have to hold it. I love it as much as my sink. The shelf is very handy during prep. That's where I open packages, put my prep scraps, actually it changes jobs continually and I have to say it is the most active part of my sink and I would not want hand washing there. I also place my small dish drainer there for cleanup. This is my typical setup except I usually use small colanders on the grate, then slide them under my cutting boards to keep the left clear for hand washing. In your case, I would consider a wall mount Karbon on the shelf side and the Hi-rise on the left....See More"Clever" sinks with ledges: Kohler, Ruvati, Galley, etc
Comments (22)@Dino Rachiele are 100% custom built. They are pretty much the gold standard that everybody else is copying. Dino Rachiele developed most of these concepts and is constantly refining them. The upshot is that it isn't cheap to buy one of his sinks, but IMHO it's worth every cent that we paid for ours. It's impressive to notice just how much attention to detail goes into these appliances. Now, I can't comment on what your budget is. That's a decision for you to sort out, and it's not really up for discussion. But if a Rachiele sink is within reach, then I can promise that you'll be very happy with it. After all, you'll probably use it many thousands of times each year. Making it your primary work area and designing it for serious usability is going to be something you'll enjoy every day you are in your kitchen. I recommend reading the background information on the Rachiele website. It goes into a lot of detail what makes a good sink and why....See MoreRachiele vs Galley vs Kohler Stages vs Haven vs Ruvati sinks
Comments (17)@J Inhof I know it's been a couple of years, but this discussion still seems relevant to some people! The Rachiele Paragon is very nice, and the price starts out reasonable. But once you configure all your options, WOW! I didn't max it out but pushing $6K for a 48" with 1/8" radius, essentials pack, disposal flange, drain board. That may be a lifetime sink, but this isn't our forever home, so… I'm gonna have to pass. The Rachiele makes the 48" Galley seem affordable, since it comes with all accessories (I love how the company calls the 48 inch "SMALL")! You mentioned you made sure to get the Ruvati workstation sink with radius corners and that drains well… I'm not finding that information online. I think all their offset sinks have a 1" slope, but that's a 1" drop no matter how large, so the wider, the gentler the slope. One YouTuber said their top mount sinks have radius corners?...See Morekawerkamp
