Storm Damaged Butterfly bush. Now what?
Comments (1)Sorry gang, I was checking out multiple forums as usual and just realized I didn't click over to the butterfly formum before posting this, so it ended up here by mistake....See More3-N-1 butterfly bush- blooms only 1 color now
Comments (13)My 3-in-1 stopped blooming in all 3 colors after the 2nd year, and it's been 2 colors ever since, the white being the dominant color and the lilac still shows, but not much. This will be it's 12th year. I wish one of the other colors had been dominant and survived, since I'm not fond of white, but this buddleia is definitely a favorite of the monarchs, bees, and unfortunately, carpenter bees. I tried planting 3 buddleias closely together, to get that similar look of 3-in-1. The One in the center was the dominant one (Sungold), and on each side, a lilac and a Black Knight, both of which remained puny. I have since removed the Sungold, due to a recurring mite problem (which, btw, never affected the purples). Since removal, the lilac has become dominant and now towers the Black Knight. Hope this helps......See MoreStorm damaged Butterfly bush... Now what?
Comments (2)I have no suggestions or knowledge about the butterfly bush but isn't it strange that wind would do that to the bottom branches. I am sorry to hear that now you have a strange looking plant and may not get blooms this year. I would plant the Zinnia's around it and just see what happens. I am guessing it will grow more but won't bloom so covering it may be a good idea. Too bad though. We all wait all year for blooms and to have that happen...what a shame....See MoreOur butterfly is free... now!
Comments (4)First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know what it feels like to lose someone you love more than anything. I know I'll never be the same and I keep everyone who suffers through grief close in my heart. My 57 year old mother died in her sleep sometime after midnight on May 12th, 2005. Since she passed I've had one very realistic dream about her. I think of it as a "visit" but to each his own. Anyway, that's the only dream I remember vividly and when I woke in tears it was 3:20 a.m. I, still to this day, believe that that was the time she passed. Why? No logical reason but I feel it to my very core. So, my answer to your question, is yes...that's probably the time she passed. I never did before, but now I truly belive things like this are signs from our loved ones....See Moremxk3 z5b_MI
