Rose orders: which rose are you most looking forward to receiving
Comments (27)Funny you should say that you expect most people to say, "all of them"; that's exactly what I was thinking. Ok. If I have to narrow it down a bit, I think the roses I'm most excited about getting are Eugenie Guinoisseau (I've been wanting a moss and this is the one I'm trying), Lullaby (sounds beautiful), Madame Cornelissen (been looking forward to this one for a while), and Duchesse de Grammont(been wanting this one for who knows how long). How's that for a narrowed list? I didn't even include Adam, Madame Wagram or Anne Marie de Montravel all of which I'm very excited about. There are more but I'm really trying to keep with the spirit of the original post....See Moreordering from Chamblee's
Comments (16)Hmm. I was just thinking today about fall planting. This is something I have never done. I order many roses from Chamblees, and I want them delivered during my spring break (school teacher). That is around the middle of March in Tulsa. If it gets cold and I have not planted them, I put them in the corner of my porch, and cover them with a sheet. I remove the sheet during the day. If I plant them, and it gets cold, I put a sheet over them to protect the new buds and foliage, but don't worry about the plant dying if it is in the ground. Chamblees is good about answering questions, and can tell you when the recommended time is to send the roses. I have real problems with the roses that I plant by May. It begins to get very hot here in May, and I don't think they do well. Cweathersby, do you do anything to protect your roses through December, January and Feb., other than to water them? Comments (19)Michaela, I am almost embarrassed to tell you how many I got. Please don't report me to the rose police, or my husband, for that matter. These were kind of hard to hide due to how large they were. I was expecting bands and got three and one gallon pots, oops! i got Belinda's dream, carding mill, evelyn (for the smell), plum perfect, wild blue yonder, enchanted autumn, blue for you, delightful Phyllis, gruss an Aachen, 2 cream verandas, sunny sky, savannah, dark desire, alnwick rose, first crush, and sombreuill. I debated and debated about Jude the obscure, but read mixed reviews, so I chose Evelyn cause I wanted a really fragrant one. You will have to let me know about him cause I may want him for next year. Haha! I live in hot and humid Louisiana. All of my current roses are trying to bloom but the rain is making them ball instead! Next week the rain is predicted to stop so I will post pics with drier weather. I'm hoping all the roses can take the rain. So excited to see blooms on the new ones! I know I'm supposed to pinch off, but want to see if they are who they say they are! Ha! This is such a new and exciting hobby for me! I am thrilled!...See MoreRoses from chamblees
Comments (37)Excuse me - I incorrectly directed a repeat of my question ( never answered) from last year to ourSteelers. It should have gone to the opening poster, R from pnwz8. I had asked about rootball size of the small Cream Veranda from Winona, Tx....See MoreEcho_Texas_zone9a
