Most of all my hydrangeas suffered winter die back to some degree. Some of the stems turned black but not all of them. They are getting new leaves on some of the stems and new growth from the base at soil level. Should I remove the stems that don't have any leaves on them or perhaps cut them back to the next set of leaves? or simply leave them alone. I am in Zone 8a, PNW. I am referring to the following hydrangeas..Little Lime, Bobo, Let's Dance (Rave) and some other macrophylla that, I'm sorry but I don't know the name of. I appreciate your help. I can post photos if you like.
