I need advice! What should I do with my knotty pine and brick?
Comments (19)It would be helpful to see pics of the opposite wall with painted white brick and more of the room. Your mirrors & light gray furniture give impression you are craving light. Suggestion: First, clean the paneling well & paint out or replace the fireplace insert black to match other accessories & make it less prominent. Then, decide if the paneling is too dark or wrong color to work with furniture + rest of the house & same with brick. It seems like remaining decisions, e.g. paint paneling or replace with drywall, paint brick or reface, add mantle, add bookshelves, etc. will depend on your budget....See MoreWhat color should I paint my house
Comments (3)Stay away from the colors that signify waste, decay or some kind of neglect. Greys (not 'battleship') and taupes (of which there are innumerable variations) look cleaner, brighter and more sophisticated. In every case of looking at houses, I prefer a medium body and white trim, as opposed to lighter body and dark trim ... or medium body and dark trim. Either of the latter look gloomy or harsh to me....See MoreWhat color should I paint my house
Comments (7)I wouldn’t be quick to remove the bushes/trees/shrubs! Identify them first — they may just need pruning and shaping. What are they? The one on the right looks like a lush weeping tree of some kind that has been pruned to look like ‘cousin It’. :) Your house looks great in the color it is now!...See MoreWhat color should I paint my exterior trim?
Comments (6)I would leave everything white and then have a vibrant, attention grabbing front door! Place a colorful chair on your porch, or pots filled with colorful flowers. My point is…small items that, when you get tired of a “color,” you can change out or vary with the season (wherever you are.). And then…landscaping adds color, too. Plants, flowers, perrenials, flowering shrubs. Your home can be the beautiful, crisp white background for a colorful home. Good luck!...See MoreClaudianne Young
