How dry is too dry on hand watering various fruits and nuts?
Comments (4)Young trees and vines are an entirely different matter than well established ones. They need more frequent water. Like an inch or two once a week on newly planted. If big trees are nearby or weeds are present maybe more. Grapes are one of the most drought tolerant fruits. So that is a good standard gauge for watering needs. The nuts will need more water than grapes for best nut size and fill. There is no upside to shorting water on nuts. Peaches, nectarine, and plum after getting well rooted can benefit from some water deficit. The benefit comes in the form of sweeter and more flavorful fruit at the expense of some fruit size. I'd say water those about like the grapes. If they aren't dropping leaves or the fruit isn't shriveling they aren't too dry. Cherries, pears, and apples probably need a little water than grapes. Cut the dry periods off a little sooner....See MoreHow long does fungicide take to dry,,,
Comments (6)Redsox, today must be the day to spray. My local rose buddy and I discussed this same topic today on the phone because she sprayed around 9 a.m. and I sprayed about 12:30 p.m. Then around 2:30 p.m. the sky clouded over. I told her that she should be O.K., cause if she's not then I'm definitely not! Too, funny!...See Morehow long should it take to dry a man's Tshirt?
Comments (9)Something is being missed. Your vent is clear, you say; your exhaust air is blowing 155, you say: and your cotton/poly T-shirts take 45 minutes. That's what you've said. Assuming that clear vent is nominal 4", either you've chosen the wrong cycle, you've grossly overloaded the machine, or what you're telling us in error. I continue to suspect error. You said you clear the vent opening outside and "hose" is brand new. What you didn't say is that the vent-path between the "hose" and the outside outlet is verified clear. For proper operation you need free/clear 4" all the way. No hose-kinks, no clumps of stuff in the middle, no frozen flappers. If you've got a clear 4" vent of reasonable length (how long is it?) and a new dryer blowing 155F, and are not over-loading, it's more or less impossible for your dryer loads to take that long. Only other thing I can think of is final spin-cyle from your washing machine. Is your laundry well spun-out or is it going into the dryer still sopping? Surely you can understand my skepticism based on what you've said to date....See MoreDryer taking forever to dry!
Comments (7)My bet is on a dirty exhaust duct. Clean it yourself or have it cleaned, and your drying time will be reduced. I have a very long and twisted exhaust run for my dryer, and the dry time increases noticeable as lint builds up in the duct. Even though it feels like a good bit of air is coming out of the outside vent, cleaning the duct makes a huge difference. I believe it is recommended to be done every year. Also, flexible plastic duct should be replaced with rigid or bendable metal ducts. Plastic and foil hoses can trap lint and create a fire hazard. Joe...See MoreKendrah
