Little Bitty Zip-Lock Bags on sale at Hobby Lobby this week
Comments (13)Rachel! that's expensive! Hobby Lobby has them for 2.99 for 300ct (these are the 1"x2" kind) and if you use the 40% off coupon they sometimes have, it comes out to about $2 for 300 of them. At Micheal's they have the 200ct. box for 2.49, use their coupon it's about 1.70. Or if you don't want to mess with coupons, walmart always has them for .97/100ct. hope that helps! jenn...See Morelittle bitty P. polymorpha
Comments (5)i'm guessing laceyvail's southern location affects his/her plant's size. and YOU are in the PNW where all plants are twice the size of their sisters in new england.I've had my clump 3 years and it is huge and happy in a moist area w/ diameter of 4'.It has months of flower and seed interest. Nice to grow small flowered clematis through it and tall grasses near it. best, Mindy...See MoreTransplanting Little Cado Avocado Tree
Comments (4)I have successfully relocated small trees during the winter, but early Spring (March-April) is typically recommended. Soak the soil well before digging to minimize root damage and replant on a small berm or mound as others suggested. The roots are somewhat invasive, fragile, and shallow and can spread a considerable distance... at least as far as the drip line of the tree. Don't lift the tree by its trunk... get under it and lift the rootball. The tree will grow in repeating flushes nearly all year, but Spring and Autumn flushes are considered the most aggressive. Protect it from frost and high winds, water it heavily but don't let it get wet feet, and you'll enjoy tasty returns. Personally, I wouldn't plant an avocado in my yard due to its excessive leaf drop and watering requirements... but that is just my opinion....See Morelittle bitty hopping bugs.
Comments (5)There is a "nymph" stage which is smaller, and the nymphs grow, somewhat similar to caterpillars where they shed their skin, or exoskeleton, 5 times before reaching adulthood. Maybe you are seeing various instars of growth. Without a photo, I'm only guessing anyway. They also vary in size, depending on the species. There are like 20,000 species of leafhoppers and treehoppers. I love the colorful leafhoppers, bad as they may be. The ones that are blue and red striped?
