Is the siding currently pale gray or blue? It’s not very attractive with your brick. A very soft nearly-white or sage green would be better and look cleaner. Many on this forum recommend the use of Romabio, a special paint/wash for brick. You could brighten the brick with that; Google it.

The tall evergreens on both sides of your door would be ripped out if they were mine. Too big, crammed in a small space.

I don’t know the exact current color, as this is how we purchased the house. It’s a light gray that reads blue and I agree, which is why I am looking for a new color. Landscaping we be redone after the house is painted. Thanks for the tips.

I'd leave the brick alone.

My suggestion is to give the house a good wash as it looks like there is accumulated grime especially on the siding. I wouldn't recommend a "power wash" as that could damage both the siding and the brick. After you get your house clean stand back and take a look before making a decision about new paint, lime wash, etc.

Yes to agood wash not power wash. IMO anything you do to brick devalues the house so leave brick as is . I love this color with brick for the siding maybe try no shttrs and see if you like that change . I would do the trim on the windows the same color as the diding for sure then just the grids white . I kive in Canada we rarely have storm doors just really good steel doors well insulated but I use ohantom screens to let frsh air in . I think landscaping is going to make a huge difference in curb appeal for sure /

I studied your brick up close - it looks real nice. The darkest bricks look brownish, which now makes me think the black shutters are too harsh. It seems the home was previously decorated in the owners’ favorite color scheme with a total disregard for the bricks.

Maybe paint the shutters the same color as your bricks, whichever brick color you like the best.

I am getting a bit tired of the over done sage green these days, so I would pick a color from the brick itself, and paint it. I do agree, to wash it good first. I would not paint the brick.

This might not be the exact best color, but your selected should be a deep color that works with the brick color. It changes the total appearance of the home.

A few things to add (can’t seem to edit post)…we are hiring professional painters, which will clean it thoroughly first. This is why the painter suggested no white bc we live in a heavily wooded area and there’s no avoiding the pollen, mildew, etc.

Overwhelmingly people say to leave the brick so it really comes down to the best color to compliment it. Definitely willing to leave shutters off if it looks better. I LOVE the sage/brick house that was shared, but worry that the copper gutters and matching windows are what drives it home?? Two things that are out of budget. If you zoom in close on the left you can see where I tried a few samples, but still wasn’t sure.

• This Behr Inspiration Cool Spanish Classic paints the walls and gutters but leaves the windows white.
• Behr Inspiration Cool Classic Colonial incorporates a lighter shade of green with coffee shutters and white windows.
• But simple Exterior, Denver and Paint Jobs with white trim still look fine and better than what you have now.

I am in the same boat as you!!! But my brick is slightly more pink!! I love the idea of going darker. We also can't change the windows just yet. I am thinking of going moody like this...

You said the brick doesn't continue around the house? Honestly, if the brick is just that front strip, I would paint it to blend with the rest of the home - love the deeper colors suggested above

this is SW Peppercorn. go w/a deep black for the door and shutters.

this one is more of a charcoal/bronze tone. You can spray your gutters/spouts in a copper shade

these two would also look nice w/the brick. either way. or do the lighter on siding, darker on shutters/door

if you ever considered a limewash, (Romabio Classico) you'd get something like this w/a soft gray accent.

Landscaping will make a huge improvement to the curb appeal.
